Christmas in May
Change is tough.
š Thatās why I was wearing a Christmas hat in May.
For most of us the last 2 years has brought about changes we could never have imagined.
Change is unsettling whatever age we are. But, there are things we can do to make it easier.
š„Firstly notice what hasnāt changed. It sounds odd, but whilst you are feeling afraid of the changes around you. Recognise what hasnāt changed and take comfort in it.
š„ Keep your values, goals, purpose in sight.
Over the last 2 years Iāve worked mostly online. Iāve had to change my presenting style to be more ācameraā friendly.
But the reason I do what I do hasnāt changed. If we react too quickly to changes that is often where we lose sight of goals. Ultimately itās disconnection from those goals that creates anxiety.
š§Try to reframe. Look for the good in the negative. Try to identify something good about the change.
This week I embraced change and supported my client do the same. In December I was booked to deliver a keynote at a Christmas event organised by the a great food and well-being start up #Tasteofminds.
For a number of reasons including pandemics the event didnāt happen and has moved online. They didnāt let go of their vision, of a great event, just accepted it had to change. So this was me preparing for a Christmas event in May.
